Children deal with stress on a day to day basis as do all human beings. As adults in the lives of the children, we have a responsibility to be positive role models for them and to support them. We must look at our own selves and consider how our stress plays a part in children’s stress. Healthy and positive ways in dealing with stress include art, music, literature and more. Learn how a community of children can support another child through this process. Come learn about the various types of stress in children and how best to support them and yourself in this process. Aspects of this session will be hands on and may be messy so dress appropriately and arrive with a commitment to learn while having fun.
Heather Briese is an Early Childhood Educator who is currently studying Children’s Mental Health. She practices daily reflection as a way of best supporting others including children and families. Her passions include playing piano, reading, writing poetry, swimming and traveling.
